Very bad news today: HBO has pulled the plug on the TV movie based on the novel by My Brilliant Friend author Elena Ferrante that was set to star Natalie, and whose filming was going to start these days in Australia….

Finally! According to the Daily Mail, HBO Films´ The Days Of Abandonment will begin shooting this Thursday in Sydney. Director Maggie Betts has been in the Australian city since the end of May, and the pre-production has been developed in recent weeks.

Great news today: Mary-Louise Parker is set as a lead opposite Natalie in HBO Films’ The Days Of Abandonment, based on Elena Ferrante’s best-selling novel. The film, which is currently in pre-production, hails from writer-director Maggie Betts (Novitiate), Natalie Portman and her MountainA Films, Maven Screen Media, Len Amato’s Crash & Salvage and Fandango. Ferrante also serves as an executive producer.
