Okay, I think its definitely time for a post MakingOf launch poll. I know the site still has a long way to go in terms of development, but I’ve tried to cater for those who want a bit more progress before they have their say.
Personally, as a fan of Nat, as a fan of film, as someone who still has modest film making ambitions…this is like the perfect storm…although, wait, the perfect storm was bad wasn’t it? So this is more like the perfect orgasm!
After the jump we have the poll results for Natalie Big Read story.

Female First have jumped onto that new quote from Natalie about her not being keen to promote things she doesn’t believe in.
We’re used to celebrities faces popping up on beauty campaigns all over the place, from Beyonce at L’Oreal and Scarlett Johansson for D&G but we’ll never see Natalie Portman doing such a thing.
Natalie has revealed that she doesn’t believe in endorsing products to make money, New York magazine reports.
The actress said: “I don’t have a problem with making money, but I don’t believe in doing something you don’t believe in to make money.
“Like a makeup campaign or something like that – the opportunities that young actors have all the time.”
It’s refreshing to hear a celebrity speaking the truth instead of plugging something she has probably never used.
That’s fine but they really could and should have included the positive message that came with the full quote. (more…)
Our current gallery for the MakingOf launch is okay, but if any one out there is able to get their hands on the rest of the pics from the party,…
So I forgot to do this yesterday. Probably because it mostly feels like an exercise in futility. Yup, yet another crappy Amazon week I’m afraid. I’m not even going to include a recommendation this week. Instead I want to mention the new comic strip competition again.
As mentioned last week, the np.comic is coming back – I wrote the script today. For every $5 donation, your name goes into the hat once, and every month we’ll do a draw. The winner will get to guide the second comic that we do every month. You can simply suggest an idea, insert yourself or loved ones into it, or even write the whole damn thing and upstage me.
Currently we’ve only got one name in that hat (twice – thanks Bryan!). So right now, a mere $10 donation would result in a 50% shot of doing your own np.comic. And a 100% shot at winning my heart.
Nothing major, but hopefully this is the step that will allow the film to finally move full speed ahead towards a release date later in the year. From Variety.
Ryan Kavanaugh’s Relativity Media has reached a multiyear output deal with Lionsgate covering up to five movies a year.
The deal, announced Monday, has been rumored for several weeks in the wake of Lionsgate’s decision to trim its inhouse production slate (Daily Variety, April 14).
The first title to be released under the pact will be “Brothers,” directed by Jim Sheridan and starring Tobey Maguire, Jake Gyllenhaal and Natalie Portman in a drama about two brothers in love with the same woman. Lionsgate is expected to release “Brothers,” based on the 2004 film by Danish writer-director Susanne Bier, later this year.
I like Anne Hathaway. Always thought she seemed really nice and you can't go wrong with dark hair and fair skin (unless you're goth), but I was never overly impressed…
Okay, time to kick off the third round of our epic Red Carpet Appearances Battle. We have just 16 appearances left and today are, to these eyes, two appearances that…
