A little np.comic update. Jutze is the first winner of the fan draw to send in a detailed breakdown for a comic. I made a couple tiny changes but this is pretty much a Jutze penned comic all the way.

Hopefully I’ll be able to bring that to you in a few days.

Finances with the site are still really tough. I’m forever looking for options to help things in that regard, but its not easy. My latest hurdle straight into a brick wall was in trying to join the Netflix Affiliates program. If anyone works for them or knows someone who does, please drop me a line, because I cannot work something out.

Other than that, please drop us a few bucks if you can spare it. Every $5 will get you into the comic draw and will earn you my eternal thanks.

Here is the second Spanish article about “NY, I Love You”. This one has some nice quotes from Natalie. Below is an excerpt but use the click through to view the full translation.

“There were many problems, but of all the challenges, the most important was the weather: it changed forty times in just two days of shooting! My director of photography, Jean-Louis had a heart attack every three minutes because of it. But our cast including Carlos, who had never acted professionally, Jacinda, who appeared immediately, from Australia, and Taylor, who is six, were perfect, inventive and authentic, they contributed so that the struggle with the weather was much less frightening.”

Natalie Fought For Acosta

Spoonbat found a couple great articles about “NY, I Love You” from Spanish sites. The second will be posted a bit later but this first one is about dancer, Carlos Acosta, whom Natalie cast in short that she directed.

That was my debut as an actor. I must say I was very nervous, it was my first experience of this type, but she always trusted me, in spite of the fact that the producers recommended that she selected a professional actor, because of dancing she was able to “barter”. However, Natalie did not want to change her mind, knew I could do it, and eventually succeeded.

Showing Hollywood How Its Done – #6 Results

As you may have noticed, this is now going to be a once a week feature. The aim is to wrap it up before the end of the year, after which point we can send it out to agencies ;-P

The winning choice this week was quite comfortable and you can see the full results after the jump. Here’s where we now stand, if you have any ideas for the direction just leave a comment. The new poll will be up tonight.

A young woman wakes up next to nobody. All too aware of this fact, she hugs her pillow. Eventually she gets up and dispassionately goes through her morning routine.

Now dressed up, she approaches the front door. A post it note reads “Today”. She puts a trembling hand on the door knob but she can’t bring herself to turn it. She angrily pulls off the note and scrunches it up, before retreating from the door.

Sarah has not left her house for 7 years. She has not seen another human being for the duration of that time. Every morning she goes to the door with every intention of opening it. But she never does.

Unbeknownst to Sarah, most of her door-to-door deliveries are made by the same guy – a guy who finds himself more and more intruiged by this mysterious woman. (more…)
