I wish I had some np.comic news for you but I haven't heard from Matt since last week. Last I heard he was trying some really neat things with the…
I finally caught up with the anthology film, “New York, I Love You”. After it was finished I considered writing that fact on my hand because I already felt the few stand out moments fading away in the rear view mirror.
To be fair, for a moment, I probably disliked as many NYILY shorts as I did with Paris Je T’aime. What was missing was at least a handful of really great shorts, but with NYILY I felt most of them fell into a very safe an uninspiring “well that was…OK” camp.
I may be wrong but I get the impression that the producers really tried to reign in the filmmakers, to make the stories much more uniform in the hope that it plays more like a normal feature film. To “help” this they use little epilogue moments from previous shorts as a segue between two other shorts.
Spoonbat linked to this Showbiz report that had Natalie commenting on the Sean Penn rumours. I thought it was quite a big deal until I saw that the quote came from the Marie Claire interview…and interview that I had read at the time, but somehow managed to completely skip over that section. To be fair, when new interviews are published I pretty much just skim the text for my name and the word “boobs”.
In any case, if anyone else missed it, Natalie’s comments about Sean Penn are after the jump.
As far as I can tell, Brothers didn't any Oscar nominations. As usual its a mix of happy surprises (Fantastic Mr Fox, In The Loop, An Education, District 9) and…
I just picked the 12 films I'm looking forward to most in 2010 and posted them in this thread on the forums. It's always major guess work at this early…
As always, I’ll start with a comic update. Matt is aiming for the new strip to be finished on Monday and then we’ll do the next fan comic draw. Names in the draw include – Denise, Erez, James and Tuomas. A HUGE thank you to those guys and girls. It really means a lot and helps us keep this ship sailing.
If you would like to help us out or join that fan comic draw, please drop us a few bucks using the button below.
On the DVD release front, oh my its a big one (a sentence, I’ve just realized, I’ve never heard in my life)…
I was able to finally watch Brothers today and I thought I’d share my opinion because, lets face it, it’s important. Not because my opinion matters more than any other, but because if I hate a Natalie film I’m going to be making snide comments about it forever more. If I love it then it’ll be quite the opposite – a mini love letter every time the film gets a mention on the site.
So, did Brothers fall into either of those camps for me?
