Those Thor predictions from yesterday are looking quite accurate. The Friday estimates show a $23 million opening day haul, which will definitely be good for number 1 at the box office and should put it right around those $65-$67 million estimates.

UPDATE – Yup, looks like it’s going to net $66 million for the weekend. This would be Marvel’s 3rd highest opening for the first film of a new character, behind just Iron Man and Spiderman. It also got a B+ cinemascore, which is pretty healthy and will hopefully mean it holds up well next weekend as well.
