Black Swan landed in 8th place on Friday, with $4.6 million estimated for the weekend. If that comes to pass, the film will then be over $90 million and should eventually pass $100 million.
Even better news is No Strings Attached, which had a really strong hold and has an outside shot at grabbing first place again. It pulled $4.5 million on Friday and is estimated to take $14.5 million for the weekend.
Last week’s #1 film, Paramount’s R-rated rom-com No Strings Attached, had an excellent -38% hold from the previous Friday with a shot at #1 by Sunday. “Let’s see if the young females can get their idle boyfriends out on Sunday,” an exec tells me.
