It’s been a long time since we heard about A Tale Of Love And Darkness, the Amos Oz biopic. For those who don’t know anything about the project, this will quite possibly be Natalie’s FEATURE directorial debut.

The latest info comes from Amos Oz himself.

That book is currently being turned into a movie, directed by and starring Natalie Portman as Oz’s mother, but the author is keeping his distance from the whole project.

“She sent me a script and I made some comments, but that’s as involved as I want to get,” he says. “I’m not a film man, it’s a different musical instrument, it’s not my musical instrument.”

I wonder if Natalie is writing the script herself…and if she still intends to film it in Hebrew?

Personally, after PPZ and Best Buds I’d love to see her take a crack at this. What say you?
