Two items that don’t quite warrant their own updates come together to form a super update. Not entirely unlike the Power Rangers.

First we have a new designer that apparently has Natalie’s attention. It comes from this emerging designers list.

Cri de Coeur – This New York City based vegan shoe line founded by Gina Ferrarccio has been making waves among the eco-minded celebrity crowd. Natalie Portman, Portia de Rossi and Kristen Bell all count Cri de Coeur among their favorites for high-fashion, cruelty free footwear.

Then we have the news that Natalie made an appearance at the Roots Ball, which seems to be an extension of the inauguration celebration.

The Root ball was a Who’s Who of prominent African American journalists, actors, thinkers, politicians and activists, plus many others. Besides Oprah, Gates and Jackson, guests included Spike Lee, Natalie Portman, John Singleton, Hollywood producer Joe Pichirallo (“The Secret Life of Bees,” “Lakeview Terrace”) and Obama’s choice for attorney general, Eric Holder, and his wife, Sharon Malone, an OB/GYN physician.
