Another funny moment came when I asked Natalie Portman for single shots as she posed with Oscar Award winner Kristin Scott Thomas. I didn’t want to waste too many flashes with the two-shot while the actresses were getting impatient, so I quickly asked for solo shots. But instead of posing for me, Natalie just smiled and shoved her way out of the room, waving her hands to let us know that we’d have to settle for shooting Mrs. Thomas alone. Portman, who unfortunately didn’t walk the red carpet, was wearing a gorgeous Giambattista Valli dress — which meant the photographers were drooling to get a good fashion shot and I pretty much ruined their only opportunity. Next time I’ll phrase my questions differently!
