Variety has a new feature up about directors shooting films about different cultures while keeping the local languages. Half way down the article is this great little tidbit.
Natalie Portman makes her feature directing debut with an adaptation of Israeli novelist Amos Oz’s memoir “A Tale of Love and Darkness.” Portman will make the film in Hebrew rather than translate her screenplay into a potentially more marketable English.
Personally, I think that’s good news. What say you?
