comic launch

Happy April Fools Day

Before I get to the Natalie news, I have something exciting to announce. Those of you who have been visiting the site for awhile know that I’ve been working on a more serious comic inspired by The Professional. It’s been quite a bumpy journey with 4 artists coming and going.

Well, finally, the project is moving forward nicely and since I’ve been quite tight lipped about the whole thing I thought that today would be a good day to preview the first 4 pages of chapter 1.

The pages contain a bit of swearing and violence so if you’re a kid or a wuss, don’t go a-clicking.

That’s it for now but I’ll be back with more Mathilda updates sooner than you think.

UPDATE – These pages were an April Fools gag. The real Mathilda comic is coming along well but isn’t ready yet.

And onto the news. First up, you can suggest Natalie and her films (Magorium, Boleyn, Darjeeling) to be nominees for the next MTV Movie Awards. Go here and submit your picks. Thanks to Chivas.

If memory serves, this would be Natalie’s second appearance on a lesbian voted list. This time for sci-fi babes. Thanks to Codename V.

Finally, it won’t be long before we can get our hands on V for Vendetta in Blu-Ray. Imakemloose sent in the details:

Originally released on HD DVD back in October 2006 ‘V for Vendetta’ is one of a handful of high-profile Warner titles that were previously held back from Blu-ray release due to the format’s then-inability to support the studio’s “In-Movie Experience” picture-in-picture commentary feature.

Finally set for release on May 20, the Blu-ray version of the cult hit will include all of the previous HD DVD’s supplemental content, including an In-Movie Experience exclusive picture-in-picture commentary (Profile 1.1-enabled), along with a suite of four making-of featurettes (“Designing the Near Future,” “Remember, Remember: The Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot,” “England Prevails: V for Vendetta,” “New Wave of Comics”), a ‘Saturday Night Live’ digital short, “Cat Power” montage, and theatrical trailers.

Announced tech specs feature 1080p/VC-1 video (2.35:1) and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround audio. (At press time, Warner had not announced any high-res audio options for ‘V for Vendetta,’ but we’ll keep you updated as any additional specs are confirmed.)

Suggested retail for the Blu-ray has been set at $28.95.

That’s it for now but I’ll be back with more in the morning. Till then, hold your breath.
