Hiya
Just thought I’d post these first reviews from the Berlin Film Festival. As always, if you want to remain free of spoilers, don’t click the links.
Variety’s review is mixed, leaning towards negative.
Bambi-eyed Portman cries affectingly, and looks fetching with a shaved head, but her character is essentially passive and not especially interesting. (Portman’s accent also wavers distractingly across classes, from Cockney to middle-England posh.)
While another AICN review bows before the film.
Natalie Portman is brilliant. She brings a very realistic and emotional believable aura to Evey which allows yourself to connect even more to her situation. She is ?the? hero. She is the one you identify with. And you will. I mean I did. Add to that that she does look amazingly hot in a ?little-girl?-outfit.
I’ll be back later.
